Abstract
This study focuses on the troubles faced by Scholars in Yemen as documented in the Book: Al-Eqd Al-Faakher Al-Hasan Fi Tabaqat Akaber Ahlul-Yaman (The Elegant Pearl in the Classes of the Great Notables of Yemen) by Abu Al-Hasan Ali Al-Khazraji (d.812.AH). The study explores the various hardships that Yemeni scholars encountered, which are a manifestation of Allah's law upon His Faithful Servants. These trials were not uniform; some scholars faced death, while others were imprisoned, tortured, had their wealth confiscated, or suffered from afflictions such as poverty and illness. The reasons leading to their trials varied, often stemming from slander, enmity, or cunning plots against them. Additionally, some faced repercussions due to their reluctance to taking up positions entrusted to them or their inclination to support one political faction over another. This study relies heavily on Al-Khazraji's book, which is considered a significant reference in the biographies of Yemeni figures across different social strata. Finally, the research concludes with a summary of key findings and recommendations.
