Abstract
Abstract:
The site of Qaryat al-Faw, located near Wadi al-Dawasir Saudi Arabia, is considered one of the most prominent archaeological sites revealed by material evidence dating back to the Bronze Age, particularly to what researchers refer to as Wadi al-Faw. This area contains a large number of tumuli (stone cairn) tombs, whose architectural and archaeological features highlight its significance. These funerary architectural patterns and associated findings deepen our understanding of the cultural interaction between al-Faw and various regions across the Arabian Peninsula. Similar funerary architectural patterns are also observed at the Jabal al-Ruwaiq site, located in the eastern desert of Marib, known as the Ramlat al-Sab‘ateen area.
his study aims to identify the chronological phases during which ancient cultural interactions occurred between Jabal al-Ruwaik (east of Marib, Yemen) and Qaryat Al-Faw (Saudi Arabia), based on recent archaeological evidence, which indicates that these interactions date back to the Bronze Age—specifically from the end of the third millennium to the beginning of the second millennium BCE. The study also seeks to explore the earliest stages of ancient trade routes, which may have originated during the Bronze Age and later developed during the period of the Ancient Arab Kingdoms.
