Abstract
The Hijaz region, especially Mecca and Medina, received a large share of travel books that provided a variety of information, and the trips were not limited to Muslims, but some non-Muslims succeeded in entering them for various reasons.
Therefore, traveler's books are considered important historical sources that depict social life and its various manifestations on public and private occasions, and add a lot of information and events, including women in the Hijaz. This study, titled: Features of the life of Hijazi women through the writings of Western travelers in the thirteenth century AH/nineteenth century AD, image of women in Hijaz; This is done by extrapolating texts related to women. Extracting the overall image of women in the writings of Western travelers, dismantling their structure, and revealing the role of women in terms of their social life in society during the period of study, as well as their participation in private and public occasions, their clothes, veils and adornments, the various professions they practiced, and others.
