Importance and Methodological Approach: The historical role: is what the individual did and practiced in his life of important activities and achievements, with a great impact, in which he invested the circumstances of his time and place, and seized the historical opportunities that were favorable to him, so they deserved to be recorded, and the records of history preserved them, so he was considered one of the makers of history; From this historical obligation, it becomes clear to us that the mission of this study is to shed light on the political, judicial and scientific roles of Abu Al-Aswad Al-Du'ali in the first century AH / seventh century AD, with four topics and a conclusion. The first topic talks about the lineage of Abu Al-Aswad Al-Du'ali, his conversion to Islam and his pursuit of knowledge at the hands of the great companions. The second topic contributes to clarifying his political and judicial role. The third topic is concerned with clarifying the military role of Abu Al-Aswad Al-Du'ali and his military participations. The fourth topic sheds light on Abu Al-Aswad Al-Du'ali's scientific achievements.
